Carolina Panthers || Boost Lineup with Signing of Jordan Matthews to Active Roster

Carolina Panthers Take Official Steps on Tuesday Morning

The Carolina Panthers took some official steps on Tuesday morning, including sending another linebacker, Chandler Wooten, to the injured reserve. Consequently, there was an open spot to fill.

The spot, as announced by the team, now goes to Jordan Matthews, who has been signed from the practice squad.

Matthews, an exceptional player from Vanderbilt University, entered the NFL in 2014 as the second-round pick for the Philadelphia Eagles. His last season with the franchise will be in 2016, where he will navigate the path alongside Panthers' head coach Frank Reich – who was in his first year as the Eagles' offensive coordinator at the time.

To fill the void in the practice squad left by Matthews, the Panthers have brought back linebacker Ayinde "Ace" Ali, who spent the summer with the team as an unsigned free agent.
